SUMMARY (Villanueva, Cortés)
Acts as a leader with regards to equipment and facilities maintenance related to assigned facility. Manages equipment procurement, rebuild, conditioning, improvements and operating procedures. Ensures documentation and implementation of assigned tasks within the established quality operating system (QOS) to ensure timely error free launches of new equipment as well as existing equipment with uptime that meets established targets. Provides information, advice, designs, and recommendations relative to the procurement and on-going maintenance of equipment insuring that such equipment supports safety, quality, product, delivery, and cost objectives as established.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- English C1 written and spoken
- 8+ years of experience in the automation industry
- Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems (e.g. Allen Bradley, National Instruments, Maple Systems)
- Familiar with Industry Standards UL and CE
- Programing and troubleshooting Vision Systems (e.g. Cognex, Keyence)
- Familiar with various Motion Controllers/Actuators (e.g. IAI, Yasakawa)
- Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues
- Ten or more years of maintenance experience required preferably in a production environment
- Five or more years of supervisory experience required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Working knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance principles desired
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of the ISO concepts of document control and traceability
- Medical device experience and working knowledge of ISO 13485 requirements, GMP and FDA regulations are a plus
- Lean experience highly desirable
- Expert on effective Lock out Tag out Policies, Procedures and regulatory requirements
- Proficient in Design/Drafting Tools AutoCAD and SolidWorks
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the team’s efforts in meeting or exceeding key measures, as defined in the operating plan, by ensuring that equipment is working efficiently and effectively, specifically helping to improve overall equipment effectiveness, emergency breakdown rates, etc.
- Designs and implements manufacturing technology to automate production processes analyzing the requirements for the production process; this includes system programs and devices that measure production processes like pressure, flow and velocity. Selects or designs the equipment used and installation process to ensure safety and production speed.
- Defines user requirements and conducts reviews with contracted Systems Engineers to ensure proper implementation of features.
- Ensures all equipment meets internal and external safety requirements.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the repair, maintenance and upkeep of all assigned company assets.
- Ensures that all equipment spares, equipment operating and maintenance procedures, documents (including prints), vendors, and support equipment are procured, maintained, and controlled in a cost effective and timely manner in accordance with the established QOS.
- Assures that all equipment documentation is current and accurate for product manufacturability, maintenance and costing.
- Acts as control point for all equipment changes; equipment prints are maintained to the current revision level.
- Continually works on monitoring and eliminating process non-conformances, scrap, and variances to standard performance as they relate to equipment reliability.
- Ensures engineering, design, layouts, supporting calculations, specifications necessary for procurement, construction, and conditioning of equipment are in accordance to approved parameters, concepts, and performance requirements.
