Basic Function: The incumbent serves as the Sensitive Investigative Unit (SIU) Program Manager for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Tegucigalpa Country Office (TCO) Sensitive Investigative Unit (SIU) and Vetted Units (VUs), providing program management to the DEA TCO under the direction of the DEA TCO Country Attaché, who is the designated principal DEA Attaché for all DEA components within Honduras.
The incumbent is responsible of a variety of functions for the DEA Country Attaché, Special Agents, and support staff, to include program management, budget management/analysis, budget requirements, acquisition of goods and services, processing training and travel requests and vouchers, conducting annual inventories, and maintaining databases that contain all of the supporting documentation for these programs. This position interacts with host nation vetted units and the U.S. Embassy’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section (INL).
Employment Length: Indefinite subject to successful completion of probationary period.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience with administrative and office management support functions is required.
Education: A bachelor’ s degree in Business Administration, Finances, Accounting or Economics or related major is required.
Language: Fluent Reading/Writing/Speaking in English is required. Fluent Reading/Writing/Speaking in Spanish is required. (This may be tested).
Job Knowledge: Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and inventory mechanisms is required. Must be familiar with Honduras and local economy. Specifically, with purchasing and procurement practices and how to research, locate, and contact vendors. Must be familiar with organizational structures of host nation security forces (HNP, DNPA, Merchant Marine, Public Ministry, Honduran armed forces), etc.
Skills and Abilities: Must have advanced arithmetic skills. Must be willing to travel if needed. Must have ability to learn and use software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access as required. Must be detail oriented, well organized, and display effective time management and superb prioritization of tasks in order to meet work deadlines. Must have a valid, current license for light vehicles. Must have had a valid driver's license for a minimum of five (5) years.
