    1.   USAID Development Outreach and Communications Specialist

          SOL No. 72052223R10019

 

The Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Specialist is part of the Front Office’s Communications Division (COMMs Team) and works under the direct supervision of the USAID DOC Specialist (Supervisor) or designee. 

     

The DOC Specialist will be responsible for the development of media plans and products, and other visual and multimedia elements, as well as assisting with the elaboration of several briefing and written documents when collaborating with planning, preparation, and logistics of events. In doing so, the incumbent will be required to have excellent writing and translation skills and to thoroughly understand the use of online and traditional media channels to effectively coordinate and execute media plans in support USAID's communication goals. 

 

The incumbent works with Mission leadership, all levels of Mission staff, members of other U.S. Government (USG) agencies, local government and non-government representatives, and other internal or external stakeholders to assist and/or act upon the Mission’s Communications Strategy by increasing awareness of and advocacy for USAID assistance programs in Honduras and for a variety of audiences within and outside the country, while ensuring seamless media planning and execution and proper usage of these communications and outreach materials.

 

      2. USAID Development Program Assistant (Program)

The USAID Development Program Assistant (Program) position is located in the Program Office (PO) and supervised by the Program Office Director or designee. The job holder supports Program Office managerial, technical and administrative staff in fulfilling PO’s core functions, including but not limited to strategic leadership; cross-portfolio coordination; monitoring, evaluation and learning; program budget management; and program, project and activity design and implementation; and ensuring smooth administrative operations and productive relationships, internally and externally.

 

Additionally, in conjunction with PO colleagues, the incumbent supports USAID/Honduras Technical Offices in meeting their programmatic responsibilities for project and activity development, implementation, and reporting.

The USAID Development Program Assistant (Program) primarily supports PO’s Migration Team and Gender and Social Inclusion Team in undertaking activity planning, procurement and implementation tasks, including the provision of: research, data visualization, document drafting and editing, and other support for activity design; monitoring, data collection and analysis, reporting and other support for activity implementation; and engagement with USAID/Honduras’ Legal, Financial Management, and Acquisition and Assistance Offices to ensure the accountability of USAID resources and compliance with USAID policies and regulations. For less complex implementation mechanisms.

 

Finally, the job holder engages mid-level counterparts from implementing partners, the local donor community, the

Honduran government, the non-governmental community, and the private sector as well as colleagues in USAID/Washington and U.S. Embassy Tegucigalpa to fulfill the responsibilities described above and to otherwise advance USAID objectives.

 

2. Human Resources Assistant

          SOL No. 72052223R10021

The Human Resources (HR) Assistant is a member of the Executive Office (EXO) HR team and is responsible for providing Human Resource Management support to the USAID Mission.

 

The HR Assistant provides clerical, administrative, and technical support for the Mission to all levels of USDH (U.S. Direct Hires), Cooperating Country National Personal Services Contractors (CCNPSC), Offshore and Resident-Hire U.S. Personal Services Contractors (USPSC) and Third Country Nationals Personal Services Contractors (TCNPSC). The job holder’s responsibilities will include preparing position classification, recruitment, contract management, new employee orientation, and official personnel/contract files management. In addition, the jobholder will be expected to regularly update the position and personnel data in the Mission personnel management system etc., coordinating and managing USAID incentive and On-the-Spot Award Programs, and supporting the arrival, travel, visa and accreditation, and departure processes. The job holder prepares and submits periodic staffing patterns and staffing numbers to the U.S. Embassy and USAID Mission management as needed. The Human Resources Assistant reports to the HR Specialist (or the Executive Officer in lieu of HR Specialist) and serves as a backup for other HR staff, as needed.
