Under the leadership of the Country Director (or failing that, the Program Director ) , the Program Manager is responsible for leading a regional office. He is responsible for the planning and execution of annual programmatic goals , management and development of the office staff , as well as the creation and monitoring of the annual budget . Additionally, they function as Water Mission 's senior representative in the region in public relations and in developing relationships with other NGOs and regional /local governments .  

 

 

A successful Program Manager is someone who:  

  • Maintain a strong Christian testimony and servant leadership within and outside the organization for which we serve. Lead the country office and ensure compliance/incorporation of WM VMV in all activities.

 

Planning: 

  • Preparation and execution of the office's annual operational plan (includes annual goals and prioritized projects). 
  • Design, execution, and monitoring of the office budget . 
  • Participate in the creation of the strategic plan in its evaluation process . Generating progress reports , results, and corrections in due time. 

 

Management: 

  • Delegate workload to achieve office objectives. 
  • Management and development of office staff . 
  • Preparation of reports and monitoring of work plans. 
  • Manage annual operational plans, five-year country plan and program goals. 
  • Design management , supervision of project construction, and the installation, operation and regular maintenance of treatment systems, sanitation , education in community development and living water , among others . 
  • Ensure due implementation through the respective department of community development programs, and hygiene and health education programs, water quality control, project management using work scopes, budgets, programs and periodic project reports , project plans. E&D , various MAI initiatives, etc. 

 

Supervision: 

  • Occasional visits to the field for quality inspections , task fulfillment, problem resolution, or staff training. 
  • Represent WM in the region in developing relationships with other NGOs , municipalities, and in public relations . (Support of the Director. ) 
  • Actively participate as a member of the Country Leadership Team ( SMT ) in SMT meetings and in making strategic decisions at the Country level. 

 

POSITION SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Review and respond to all urgent communications from Management with specific requests.  
  • Streamline pending activities of your work team , specifically reminding them to upload reports to the MAI platforms after coming on tour.  
  • Review and approve field tours in accordance with the approved monthly schedule , validating food and general expenses corresponding to the tour.  
  • Monitoring compliance with field tour activities and activities related to the 5-year Business Plan. 
  • Review and validate monthly PM programming . As well as updating the MAI platforms with official reports in the cloud/SharePoint.  
  • To adopt the institutional Living Water plan , and other components that contemplate discipleship internal to the staff and external to the communities we serve.   
  • Conduct field inspections and site assessments independently in Honduras and, if necessary, in other countries for development and disaster relief projects. 
  • Work in collaboration with management in the preparation and preparation of the annual activity report to the central government or other entities that require it .  
  • Promote the rational use of assigned resources and their care , for example, the allocation of vehicles . e equipment and  work tools, etc.  
  • Other binding functions assigned by the International Water Missions Directorate (MAI) . 

 

What is needed?  

5 to 7 years of experience , including: 

  • Graduate of engineering or related fields. 
  • Proven experience in program management , ideally in non-profit organizations or the humanitarian sector. 
  • Experience in annual and multi-year operational planning
  •  Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage projects effectively. 
  • Strategic vision and ability to develop and execute effective strategies. 
  • Specialized knowledge of hydraulic systems 
  • Advanced English skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills ( English) 
  • Excellent analytical , planning and project management skills.  
  • Understand and commit to the Mission of providing access to clean water, sanitation, community development and the opportunity to share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to people in need around the world. 
  • Be an active member of an evangelical Christian church and have a clear call from God for this mission. 
  • Understanding and ability to work with the Country Director , field technicians and all levels of staff in the project area and the country at large. 
  • Ability to instill respect and trust. 
  • Ability to lead project staff and community teams toward common goals and overcome various obstacles. 
  • Ability to organize staff workload and keep an office running smoothly. 
  • Ability to solve complex problems and use reasoning skills to solve them. 
  • An intuitive sense of timing and appropriateness in terms of projects. 
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours , including nights and weekends if necessary. 
  • A problem- solver who works without hesitation alongside the project team, but willing to seek assistance and advice when necessary. 
  • Ability to succeed in highly fluid and unstructured environments in times of emergency. 
  • Understand the importance and ability to engage with elected and non-elected local leaders and authorities in the project area as key project stakeholders throughout all phases. 
  • Willingness and willingness to disseminate the MAI Values, Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith by fostering a dedicated Christian environment for all staff in charge.
